The Free Citizen Initiative Group Worldwide

“Free Citizen” is a sculpture born out of collaboration between the talented visual artist Arsen Gvenetadze and award winning sculptor Levan Vardosanidze. At present, nine numbered pieces have been commissioned. Dr Arsen gave me the first edition at our Tbilisi InterNataions event at the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace, 22 August, 2020, with the expectation that I would in turn give it for permanent placement in New York City. I will do it after commericial flight disruptions from Tbilisi, caused by our border closurse in response to the Covid19 pandemic, begin normal operations again. Dr Arsen also now counts me as a brother, along with Dr Bashiri in Israel, and Sheik Dr Jasim in Dubai. Together we steer how the gifts will be distributed, as it is from us, as public works of art and inspiration. I am designated as Consul and act as director of the project and Dr Arsen is titled as Ambassador and executor. In my own words, “The sculptured human form is almost life-size. It is easy to interpret it as a visual representation of freedom to move in any direction, signified by a glass compass heart embodied in a transparent and ambiguous human form, outlined in heavy bronze. The heaviness of our outer human form contains the lightness of our inner life force. Hopefully, the compass heart will help us find our way to becoming a united people living together in a peaceful nation and planet.”

One sculpture has already been installed at Tbilisi airport, another stands in my apartment waiting to go to New York City. As of this writing, October of 2020, one was delivered to Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), and another to Republican Clinic Hospital in Batumi. Another has already been delivered to a colleague in Vilnius and waiting for a permanent public appointment for display. Another is soon destined to travel to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, as a sign of friendship between Israel and Georgia. The Israeli Embassy in Tbilisi has informed us that they will soon hold a ceremony for us before the sculpture leaces Georgia. Another will later go to Dubai, completing the circle of our brotherhood and a symbol of peace and friendship, honoring the new peace accord between Israel and the U.A.E. Another is already in France with a colleague and expected to be placed at Saint-Quentin-en Versailles University. The last sculpture of the series is under negotiation and will be announced at a later date.

Two other completely different sculptures, “Happiness” and “Dignity” are also part of our works. Happiness was installed on Vasha Phashala Avenue, in front of TSMU in January of 2018, and Dignity is planned for the same location in 2021.
We believe that symbolically, Free Citizen and Dignity equate to Happiness. Therefore, the three works of art are related and linked around the world in a network of strategic placements.
