Happy Me Appeal

Dear Tbilisi Expats Community friends and beyond,

I had a conversation with one of our Tbilisi members, Monika Jaraniwska, who is doing good work here to help the Ukrainian refugees in our city. Please read through her appeal below for support and maybe you can help, too.

Monika writes:
“I’m from Poland and since 2015 a member. I’m a volunteer and creator of a UA Kids Club Happy ME in Tbilisi. It’s a safe and free of charge for UA refugees place to leave their children and go to work, search for work, do Embassy paperwork and so on. I would like to start with asking for a campaign for volunteers to assist with collecting money for the next months for food, fruits, milk, toilet paper, art materials and small salary for the Ukrainian teachers. I’m running around for solutions how to keep the place open, no support from the GEO government and EU Delegation so far. Our Kids Club is the only UA place for children where they can speak Ukrainian language, sing, learn, play and feel the Ukrainian atmosphere. We had 900 UA kids visitors from July till September, and still many are coming.
If you are willing to sponsor 50 lari or more, only this will save us this coming months, we can’t close this place! We are free of charge for the Ukrainians. For 50 lari per day we buy lunch for 20 children. For the Expats 50 lari means 2 coffee and 2 sandwiches and for us is life sawing. I will not force anybody to help, but maybe if just by knowing about us you will just donate. Knowing will help, spreading the info about our existence will help! The problem is that nobody knows about us from the Expats scene in Tbilisi. I’m so busy running the place I don’t have time to go to the meeting and talking to the people in person 🙁 I would like but I just simply don’t have time :-(.
